All conventional moldboards come in kit form. Each kit contains: One moldboard cover, a spacer for the point and shin, extra length bolts (For moldboard, point and shin) and installation instructions. |
| • John Deere | Poly Last moldboard covers were originally designed for the peanut farmers in the Southeastern United States. The red clay found here is notorious for sticking to everything, including plow bottoms. The challenge was to find a non-stick material that could stand up to the harsh conditions of farming. That’s how Poly Last was born. After endless hours of study at the National Tillage Laboratory in Auburn, Alabama and testing at experiment stations throughout the southeast. Poly Tech originated the first commercially successful poly covers for moldboards. Today Poly Tech continues to produce the very best moldboard covers available. Over the years we’ve found that Poly Last covers work well in just about any soil type. Black gumbo won’t stick to it and most sands don’t wear it out any faster than the steel it replaces. We’ve also learned that, because they have a super low coefficient of friction, it requires less horsepower to pull the same plow through the soil. Typically a 10% to 25% reduction. The results are savings of hundreds in fuel costs. Some will notice reduced maintenance costs as well as stress on their equipment is lessened. Results will vary depending on soil type and equipment. Due to design, the bi-directional or switch plow produces far more drag than a conventional moldboard plow. Our Poly Last moldboards and covers have a super low coefficient of friction that dramatically reduces drag. Less resistance improves soil flow and turn over. It also reduces the stress on your equipment, improving fuel economy and reducing maintenance costs. These results are most noticeable in heavy or sticky ground but almost everyone can benefit from the addition of Poly Last moldboards and covers. Bi-directional Moldboards available for: Complete kits include special hardware and instructions. They are sold per bottom. |
